This morning when I saw the news report I was shocked to see all that is going on in our community. According to "My Statement- Austin American Statesman" ICE has reached central Texas in which they are sweeping people and arresting across the state. It is very upsetting to hear the way they have been conducting this. Stopping random people just because of they way they look, talk, or dress questioning them and violating their privacy assuming they are all criminals. The article talks about where these ICE arrest are taking place. What the Austin Police Department has to say and do about the situation and how individuals are responding to this, many feel scared, others feel mad and others just pray and hope and live with a fear of being deported. This article is worth reading it gives information on what ICE is attempting to do, how they have been doing things and some of the cases and arrest they have been doing throughout the city all in one day. I don't really know if safety is their number one goal at this point or if it's just assuming and generalizing. As a community it is very important to be informed of what is going on around and sharing and spreading the word to those who may be misinformed.
