re dep of justice

In response to my  colleague’s blog titled” Justice Department not so Justice http://paigesusgovblog.blogspot.com . Good well rounded blog post. I agree with you on changing the way we run our justice department. We should make decisions based on facts. To make this post a little more meaty I would add more current events going on and what decisions our justice department have made. You could also add some ideas on how we could make changes in our justice department. Good post and good topic.

no good people

I found this article titled” Why Don’t Good People Run For Public Office?” Written by Richard Brand   very interesting. The audience he is trying to target I think is the general american voting public. The authors strategic way of opening the article by giving the audience a small reflection gets one thinking regarding our voting choice and the people we have chosen as americans to lead this country. “That is they seem to be people with ideas that are off the chart. They refuse to accept the earth is round. They refuse to accept that science matters. They refuse to believe that the Holocaust happened.” I agree to an extent what this author is saying there are a numerous amounts of obstacles that keep the “normal” american people from running for office. The biggest example the author uses is money, which the author is completely right, when it comes to running for office money is something that is needed. The author gives other points on why good people don't run for public office. I would recommend the general public to read this article.  The author uses evidence from past elections, past events and  current problems we are facing as a nation.

Bill 4 response to colleague work

After reading my colleague Jorge's work regarding Senate Bill 4 that has recently been passed by the Texas house, I completely agree on what the outcome will be after this law if enforced. As Jorge mentioned . "A sanctuary city is essentially a city in the United States that shelters illegal immigrants by limiting government effort to enforce immigration laws" by taking this "safe" places not only will this break many families apart but this will bring a fear to all immigrants. Places like churches, and schools no matter what individuals immigration status is  these should be places to feel safe in. Now that this law will be enforced More and more deportations will continue to happen. As much as this country tries to deny it but immigrants have a huge impact in our American economy. When people start getting deported less consumption will happen our economy at some point will decline. When passing these type of immigration laws no many will understand unless you  or your family or friends  have been affected by this. If only our leader in this nation could stop and think about what they are really doing and to realize that immigration is NOT the biggest problem this nation is facing!!!!

the land of the free with a cost

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/05/04/us/texas-border-migrants-dead-bodies.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Fus&action=click&contentCollection=us&region=rank&module=package&version=highlights&contentPlacement=1&pgtype=sectionfront

This article by Manny Fernandez is about many immigrants who's remains have been found many years after. This article doesn't directly talk about our United States Government but I believe they have a lot to do with what this article talks about.
More than 6,023 deaths have been documented as immirgrants who didn't make it along the way, many died of hydration, hypothermia, or hunger. Reminds found spread out though the lands of Texas.
With all these changes going through our American Government it is very disappointing to see how this nation has taken opportunities from immigrant families. New laws  have broken families.
Immigration isn't the biggest problem in this country, While many think it is it really isn't. Many people come to this country to seek a better life, a better opportunity. Many escape violence, poverty, and hunger. The article mentions how  many of the remins  have been found berried in milk crates a few miles aways from the Texas border check points. "Someone had buried an unidentified migrant in a milk crate and wrapped it in a red biohazard bag. Inside the lidless crate were skeletal remains — a cranium, ribs and other bones — and a red bandanna."  According to the article No DNA sampling was ever done, nor  the bodies were identified and according to the Texas rangers this is nothing illegal according to Texas laws. I think that just like our  government wants to enforce laws to send illegal immigrants back, they should  first worry about identifying the bodies of those who have lost their lives along the way and properly burying them.
